If I'm in the mood for homecooking and fried okra, then I'm heading to Olympic.  It is a no frills homecooking restaurant that is usually fairly packed during the day for lunch.  They offer daily specials which are really great deals!
On their menu you can find traditional diner favorites and sandwiches as well as salads and Italian dishes.  There truly is something for everyone.  My go to dish is usually the hamburger steak plate with mac and cheese, a side salad and that awesome fried okra.  It is a sizeable portion and always delicious!
Definitely one of our favorite places to go when we want a good meal at a fair price! Always good!

Our first visit to the Colfax location was enjoyable.  Party of 3 for dinner on a Wednesday evening.  The daily specials were fried popcorn shrimp or spaghetti.  I tried the popcorn shrimp with fries and fried okra (triple fry platter).  The shrimp were fried perfectly & very tasty.  The fries were fries and the okra was good.

My son had the other daily special, spaghetti with meat sauce.  He chose sliced peaches over the side salad.  He liked the spaghetti.  It had a sauce that is more Greek than Italian.  It appears slightly darker in color & has a more pronounced oregano flavor. The peaches were the basic canned variety which he liked.

My wife ordered the veal Parmesan with spaghetti with meat sauce.  The entree came with a side salad.  The salad consisted of shredded iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes & sliced cucumbers.  It was basic, but fresh.  She really liked the veal & spaghetti.  She had plenty leftover for lunch tomorrow.

The service was outstanding.  Our waitress was perfect: friendly, attentive & thoughtful.  I would recommend this restaurant for those looking for diner fare at a nice & very clean restaurant.

Another day when breakfast sounded good for an early lunch, this solid diner was on our route, and it was early so the customer presence was light. You seat yourself here, and frankly I really like that - I want to pick where I'll sit, or maybe more importantly, I want to pick where I don't want to sit - beside the family from hell, near the loud talker, near the ahole on the phone during his entire meal, or his kin who leaves the text arrival sound on!

The service was exceptional - drinks ordered and delivered quickly, food ordered, and it was out of the kitchen in just over FIVE minutes - everything perfectly done. Alice chose pancakes (no surprise there), a rasher of bacon, and a single, soft scrambled egg - delivered intact, and as ordered.

I went with 2 eggs over medium ( I want the yellow runny, but I don't want to see movement in the white), link sausage, home fries, grits, and toast - again, tabled as ordered. The eggs were perfect, and the link sausage was as flavorful as you could want. The Homes Fries here are special, much like those at Cagney's. Here they start with a Baked Potato, then cube it, and then crust it up on the grill - perfect! The only down side is they use that "not even close to butter soft spread stuff", and it really detracts from the grits, and fails on pancakes.

But, all in all, a very nice breakfast meal.

Meh.... had late breakfast here today:

Ham and cheese omelet, bland and tasteless
Home fries, weird aftertaste which ketchup didn't help
Biscuit, good but the fake butter is gross
    Coffee was great!
    Staff, friendly and attentive
